Katrina Wilkop

Director/ Physiotherapist 

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy 1994

Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma - Australian Childhood Foundation 2021

Work History:

  • Worked as a Physiotherapist since graduating in 1994 in many different settings including hospital, community, private, aged care and early intervention.

  • Moved to Clare from Adelaide in 2006 and worked for 12 years at Country Health SA.

  • Since 2010 have worked in the early intervention space.

  • Started Play Partners in February of 2016.

Three words to describe yourself: Approachable, encouraging, organised.

Favourite childhood memory:

Going to Melbourne to visit grandparents and cousins. 

 

Favourite childhood game:

Building cubby houses out of all sorts including mud!

Favourite movie:

The never-ending story, any Christmas movie.

If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing?

I used to want to be a teacher. Now I would choose something creative like writing or floristry. I would also be interested in marine biology.

Interests outside of work:

I enjoy catching up  with my adult children, gardening,  reading or listening to audiobooks and being creative in any way.

Ashley Doubtfire

Occupational Therapist

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy 

Work History:

Graduated in 2019 and began work at Play Partners in 2020

Three words to describe yourself: Positive, caring, and friendly

Favourite childhood memory:

Going on camping trips around South Australia with my family

Performing in dance concerts

Learning to cook with my grandmother

Favourite childhood game:

Hide and seek with my sister and cluedo

Favourite movie:

There are so many to pick from! I always enjoy watching Harry Potter, Twilight, Shrek, musicals like Mamma Mia and Hairspray, and of course, Disney movies. 

If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing?

I have always seen myself as someone who values helping others and I have wanted to be a therapist for a long time. If I wasn’t an OT, I would have looked into nursing, psychology or teaching. 

Interests outside of work:

Reading, looking after and collecting house plants, netball, spending time with friends and family, going to the theatre or watching musical movies, cooking.

Kathy Smith

Finance Officer

Qualifications:

Diploma in Business

Masters in Business administration

Brief work history: 

  • 14 years as Finance officer Clare Valley Children’s Centre 2007- present

  • 8 years admin officer Clare Golf Club  2013-

  • 4 years admin/finance Linkup Construction Surveys

  • 11 years with the CBA

  • 40 years as a wife an mother

Three words to describe yourself:  Efficient, resourceful, reliable 

Favourite childhood memory:

Any memory with family, I am one of 8 children and had a great time growing up with sport, family outings, extended family etc

Favourite childhood game:

Netball

Favourite movie:

Love Actually

Interests outside of work:

Family, playing golf, exercise and travel.

Jo Pilgrim

Speech Pathologist

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology)

Work History: 

  • I have worked for SA Health since June 1995. 

  •  I have worked for Yorke and Northern Local health Network in Clare since November 1996 - present. In each of these positions I have held a Rural Generalist role providing speech pathology services to Adults and Paediatrics with Communication and Swallowing difficulties. More recently I worked with children with Disability providing services through the NDIS

  • I started working one day a week for Play Partners in October 2017 

 

Three words to describe yourself:  Adventurous, Empathetic, Honest

 

Favourite childhood memory:

All the outdoor activities I did with my family - camping, skiing, bushwalking, sailing, windsurfing.

Favourite childhood game:

Sardines - one person hides. Everyone looks for them and when they find them they also climb into the hiding place.

 

Favourite movie:

Mama Mia or Pitch Perfect or The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

 

Interests outside of work:

My family, our dog, camping, dancing, walking, hanging out with friends, taking kids to sports, going to the beach and the snow covered mountains..

Karen McNeil

Allied Health Assistant

Qualifications:

Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Specialising in Speech Therapy)

Diploma in Children's Services 

Work History: 

  • ​I have been employed as a children's educator over the past 12 years. I have supported children with challenging behaviours, children with complex learning difficulties and disabilities. 

  • I have consolidated by learning and knowledge in speech and language by completing a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance. 

Three words to describe yourself: Professional, Enthusiastic and Adaptable 

Favourite childhood memories:

Going to Grandma & Grandpa's house and eating a bowl of rice/sago pudding

 

Favourite childhood game:

Playing card games like 'Fish', 'Snap', Beetle game, card game called 'Patience'

Favourite movie:

Charlotte's Web and Mamma Mia.

If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing?

Fitness Instructor 

Interests outside of work:

Gardening, listening to music, walking and exercising as well as looking after my pets.

Riding motorbikes out bush in Roxby Downs and swimming.

Sliding around on the bathroom floor in the nude with my cousins and sister.

If this wasn't your career, what would you be doing?

Possibly still mining or something in the fitness field.

Interests outside of work:

I love camping exercising and spending time with family.
