Referrals

Direct referrals from individuals, parents, carers, Department of Child Protection are welcome.

A referral from your GP is not required unless you are registered with the Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care Plan) and wish to claim some of your sessions from Medicare.

NDIS clients can be referred directly or via their Support Coordinator.

Appointments

Appointments will be organised on availability. After hours and Saturday appointments may be considered if required. The length of initial consultation or assessment will vary according to need but will be negotiated with you prior to that consultation taking place. The client information and consent form is to be completed before the first appointment and emailed to playpartners@outlook.com. For NDIS clients, an initial service agreement for assessment or initial appointment will also be required.

Appointment types

Assessment

Assessments are offered by all discipline areas with standardised assessment and reporting options outlined in our fees tab. Assessments provide the information required to establish the need and goals for therapeutic intervention. Initial assessments are conducted at Play Partners therapy space.

Screening

Play Partners offers hearing and auditory processing screening for children aged 4+ through the Hearing Australia Sounds Scouts App.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are available at Play Partners Centre in Clare or by negotiation with education sites, childcare centres and day options centres. Therapy sessions are generally 45 or 60 minutes long and are either weekly or fortnightly depending on need. Play Partners has a commitment to making therapy relevant, interesting and transferable to other situations so parents or those involved are actively encouraged to participate in sessions.

Telehealth

All allied health staff at Play Partners are able to utilise telehealth, so this is an option for therapy if preferred.

Group Programs

At present Play Partners offers Social Detectives programs and PEERS as group programs. Social learning is best supported in a small group setting where real time practise of developing skills can occur. Please see "What we offer" tab for program details.
